The festive events include the beauty contest and agility trials of Turkmen alabay dogs.
On January 25, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited a number of construction sites in Ashgabat and inspected the preparations for Turkmen Alabay Day celebrations, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reports.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov supported the decision to combine the festive events marking Turkmen Alabay Day and Turkmen Horse Day. Chairman of the Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported to the Turkmen leader on the festive events, which would take place on the last Sunday of April.
The official said that the beauty contest and agility trials of Turkmen alabay dogs would be held on that day. The jury that would choose the winner of the competitions should consist of experts who had extensive experience, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The Turkmen leader instructed that a festive exhibition should feature the works of sculptors, painters and jewellers depicting the unique qualities of the Turkmen dog breed. The beauty contest winner will receive the title Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy.
