President of Kazakhstan signs a document on the powers of Government

In accordance with the document, the Government will continue to perform its duties pending approval of the new structure.

On January 15, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev gave the green light to the Decree On the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan that regulates legal powers of the main state body, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

The President of Kazakhstan issued the Decree in accordance with Paragraph 1 of Article 70 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Article 4 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan On the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. These legislative acts state that the Cabinet of Ministers shall resign its powers to the newly elected Mazhilis Parliament.

In accordance with the Decree, the Government of Kazakhstan shall continue to perform its duties pending approval of the new structure. The Decree will enter into force on the date of signature.

As was reported, the parliamentary election in Kazakhstan were held a few days ago. On January 11, the leader of Kazakhstan exercised his voting right in the parliamentary election. The President cast his vote for a candidate nominated by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (AKP).
