The language courses are organised in accordance with the Order of Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.
In accordance with the Order of Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, free Russian language courses are organised for schoolchildren in the capital city. The project was implemented by the Dushanbe department for youth and sport with the aim of involving teenagers in learning processes, the press office of the department reported on January 5.
The officials noted that the number of young citizens joining extremist groups and movements had grown in recent years. They attributed this to a lack of knowledge among teenagers, bad parenting, poor quality education and low self-awareness.
Stationery were distributed among the participants in free Russian language courses.
As was reported, in September 2020, President Emomali Rahmon stated that the younger generation should take up science and learn at least two foreign languages and electronics technology. The leader of Tajikistan also criticised the quality of teaching the Russian language in the country and noted that no tangible progress had been made so far in this sphere.
