Uzairnavigation Center celebrates 30th anniversary

It is a significant date for the civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On December 31, the Uzairnavigation Center which operates under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and provides air traffic control services and radio equipment for flights celebrated its 30th anniversary. It was reported by the press office of the relevant ministry.

Uzairnavigation Center was founded in 1991. The priority type of its activity is the use of the airspace of the republic, management, and regulation of air traffic.

In the early 90s, the decision to create a dispatch center marked the beginning of a new era for the civil aviation of Uzbekistan, the implementation of an innovative policy for the development and modernization of air traffic management throughout Uzbekistan.

It must be added that in November 2018, Shavkat Mirziyoyev initiated the reforms in the system of the national air carrier. On the basis of his decree, the following joint-stock companies were created: Uzbekistan Airports, Uzbekistan Airways, Uzbekistan Helicopters LLC, state associations Flight Complex, Main agency of air communications and Complex of material and technical supply Uzaviatekhsnab. At the same time, the Uzairnavigation Center was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, most international flights with Uzbekistan have been canceled. As of January 3, 2021, the number of patients with coronavirus in the republic was 77,258, there were 27 new cases. The number of recovered patients reached 75,437 people. In total 612 citizens died.
