Head of Kazakhstan marks new economic strategy

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev put forward several initiatives on socio-economic development.

On September 1, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed a message to the people at a joint session of parliament. He spoke about what Kazakhstan should be like in a new reality. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the head of Kazakhstan.

Outlining the prospects, the Kazakh leader presented the strategy for the country’s further development. The President announced initiatives aimed at restoring the socio-economic incentives of the state in the modern world. Tokayev noted the need to improve the efficiency of the economy, the industrial and agricultural sectors, transport networks, and financial institutions. He focused on the development of entrepreneurship and the social well-being of citizens.

The head of the state marked that the new economic concept of the country should be based on a fair distribution of benefits and responsibilities, fair competition, the introduction of new markets, expansion of the range of products, technological economy, and human capital development.

The President highlighted the tasks related to the development of the education system and national healthcare. The country’s leader also discussed the steps for achieving economic and social progress.  He noted that the relevant goals could be reached only on a solid legislative basis.
