Kyrgyz leader marks importance of supporting villagers

Jeenbekov discussed the construction and rehabilitation of irrigation systems, as well as providing the population with clean water.

President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov held a meeting with Acting Head of the State Agency for Water Resources under the Government of the country Abdybai Jailoobayev. They touched upon issues on the implementation of projects aimed at providing villagers with clean water, as well as the construction of irrigation systems, as reported by the press office of Kyrgyz president.

The construction of the Maksat inverted siphon will start soon in the Batken region. Moreover, the development of designs and planning for 7 irrigation facilities has been completed.

At the same time, 122 villages out of 715 settlements of the republic that need clean drinking water were provided with it in 2 years. Besides, it is planned to do the same for 80 villages this year.

In turn, the head of the state said that effective work has been carried out in these areas over the past 3 years. He noted that there are still several issues in this direction.

Jeenbekov once again underlined the importance of expanding irrigation and water supply systems in villages. The president marked that it is one of the main foundations of the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan.
