Uzbekistan to conduct flu and pneumonia vaccination in September

The immunization will lower the risk of getting flu and pneumonia complications.

Uzbek authorities take all necessary measures to vaccinate the population against influenza and pneumonia. It was reported by Rustam Ikramov, an employee of the office for combating coronavirus on August 18.

According to the epidemiologist, annually, mainly in the fall, there is a sharp increase in diseases transmitted by airborne droplets.

— Doctors call it a mixed infection. We assume that the appearance of viral diseases that cause influenza and pneumonia, in combination with coronavirus, leads to even more severe complications, — said the specialist.

In this regard, he stressed that considering the seriousness of the problems, at the moment the government of Uzbekistan takes measures to conduct vaccination against influenza and pneumonia. Also, the country intends to purchase vaccines from abroad, and create special points. The work will start in September.

To date, 36,760 cases of coronavirus infection are reported in Uzbekistan. The MOH registered that 32,223 people have already recovered.
