Kazakhstan to send officials to Moscow to buy Russian vaccine

President of Kazakhstan announced this decision in a congratulation letter to Putin.

On August 12, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulation letter to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Tokayev congratulated his colleague on the registration of the world’s first vaccine against COVID-19 and also said that the Kazakh government is interested in purchasing a consignment of the medicine. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the president of Kazakhstan.

Tokayev highlighted that such an achievement undoubtedly demonstrates the high status, unconditional authority and sustainable development of the scientific potential of the Russian Federation. It also proves that Russia, as a participant of the general battle against the global threat, is in the forefront.

Tokayev thanked his colleague for the loyal and significant support of Kazakhstan at such a difficult time for the whole world. On behalf of all representatives of the national health system, he expressed gratitude to Putin for timely voluntary and humanitarian assistance. He marked the significant contribution of Russian doctors to the stabilization of the hot epidemiological situation in the country.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the close cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in this area. The president of Kazakhstan informed Putin about his plan to send a government group to Moscow to negotiate a purchase of a vaccine with a Russian brand.
