Mirziyoyev instructs to ease quarantine in Uzbekistan

All regions of the country are ready to ease the restrictions imposed due to the epidemic.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the government to ease the quarantine restrictions in the country. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the head of the state on August 12.

Traffic will be allowed during the day on August 15. Local railway and air communications will also resume.

Moreover, sanatoriums and boarding houses, hotels and museums, children’s health camps and non-state kindergartens, beauty and hairdressing salons, outdoor catering facilities will be opened on Saturday.

In addition, family celebrations, weddings, ceremonies are allowed to be held in the house and yard with the participation of no more than 30 people (mostly only relatives, friends and neighbors).

According to Mirziyoyev, quarantine restrictions must be gradually eased to ensure the stability of the economic and social sector, and most importantly, to ease the living conditions of citizens.

The movement of cars between the regions and the work of public transport (with the exception of the metro) will resume on August 17 as well. On August 20, non-food markets (clothing and building materials), large supermarkets, fitness clubs, gyms, swimming pools will be allowed to work.

The president stressed that sanitary and hygienic requirements, social distance, masks will still be mandatory for everyone.

— We must strictly follow sanitary and hygienic rules to avoid a repeat of the mistakes we made earlier, — said the head of the state.

According to the latest data, the total number of detected cases of COVID-19 in the country is 32 654 people, 25 659 of them (78 percent) recovered.

It must be added that quarantine measures have been tightened again in Uzbekistan since July 1, then the republican commission extended the restrictions until mid-August.

Earlier, Uzbekistan extended the validity of visas for three months until November 1. The procedure for entering and leaving the country during quarantine was also simplified.
