Turkmenistan and Ukraine discussed possibility of resuming flights

The issue was touched upon at a meeting of the head of the Ukrainian ministry of infrastructure and the Turkmen ambassador in Kiev.

Turkmen authorities consider the possibility of resuming flights with Ukraine. The topic was raised at a meeting of the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy with the Turkmen ambassador Toily Ataev on July 10. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure.

The officials showed interest in establishing flights between Ashgabat and Kiev. Krikliy underlined that Ukraine is ready to hold a videoconference on this topic with representatives of the Turkmenistan Airlines. The head of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Aleksandr Bilchuk also took part in the meeting.

Specific attention during the discussion was attached to restoring transport links. Government officials highlighted that it will increase trade turnover between countries. Ataev, in turn, marked that the Turkmen authorities are interested in attracting Ukrainian companies to develop economic ties between the states.

It must be added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba held a telephone conversation on June 1. They discussed the prospects of strengthening business contacts.
