Turkmenistan and WHO to conduct coronavirus researches

The main goal of this process is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Turkmen government together with the World Health Organization intends to conduct joint laboratory tests to identify coronavirus. The relevant topic was touched upon at a video meeting at the UN residence in Ashgabat on May 13. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by "Turkmenistan today".

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Medical Industry of the state and the WHO specialists took part in the event. The main topic of the negotiations was the implementation of measures to further counteract coronavirus infection and to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.

WHO experts underlined that the organization is ready to provide the state with its achievements in the relevant direction. Turkmen officials, in turn, noted that the country's authorities are ready to share experience on the prevention measures against COVID-19.

According to the MOH as at May 13 no cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Turkmenistan. The relevant information has been verified by the World Health Organization.

The government is actively working to prevent the spread of infection in the state. Special vaccines are bought, medical examinations of students, employees of organizations, and pensioners are conducted in the country.
