Authorities of Kyrgyzstan want to begin energy reform in the country

The Prime Minister of the Republic told about the problems in the energy sector.

On January, 22nd, 2019, a government meeting was held on the reform of the Kyrgyz energy sector in Bishkek at which the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, spoke. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers said that the citizens of the Republic were dissatisfied with the work of current system of managing in the energy sector. This information was announced to centralasia.news by the press service of the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

Abylgaziev emphasized that people also criticized the activities of the «National Energy Holding Company».

According to him, the company has serious problems with loans and the development of the industry as a whole, but there is still not any progress in resolving existing issues.

The Prime Minister has told how he expected to restore citizens' confidence in the energy sector. He thinks that it is necessary to improve the industry specific system of public administration, to make it transparent for excluding the possibility of corruption. In addition, it is necessary to implement automated control systems which would work according to uniform standards.
