Uzbekistan will receive more than half a billion dollars from the World Bank

The relevant document was signed by the Minister of Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov.

A number of agreements between Uzbekistan and the World Bank were reached on July, 22nd, 2019. The Minister of Finance of the Republic Jamshid Kuchkarov and Vice President of the World Bank Cyril Muller signed a relevant document. It is known that in the near future the World Bank will allocate $ 656 million to Uzbekistan for implementation of the reforms in the market, social and educational spheres. This is not the first time when Tashkent has received loans from the World Bank. The World Bank has been assisting this country in the implementation of various reforms since 2017. In addition, the financial institution provides financial assistance to Uzbekistan.

Last year, the dialogue between the state's leadership and the World Bank was conducted by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Executive Director Kristalina Georgieva. In 2018, the parties discussed mutually beneficial cooperation and prospects for common projects. At that time, Georgieva emphasized that the course of reforms in Uzbekistan was highly appreciated by international financial experts.
