The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan held an international videoconference with the delegations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. Tajikistan was among the participating countries, the press office of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence of Tajikistan reported.
Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defence of Tajikistan Rustam Nazarzoda stated the need to strengthen regional cooperation in preventing and mitigating natural disasters.
The event took place during the visit of the international delegations to Islamabad.
Following the meeting, Tajikistan and Pakistan agreed to intensify cooperation in early disaster warning, exchange experiences and train specialists.
