Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov and Ambassador of China Yu Jun discussed the prospects for promoting cooperation in transport and logistics between the two countries during a meeting. The Uzbek side stated its intention to increase the number of flights of the national airline carriers to China, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported.
The talks covered a wide range of issues, from road transport to railway construction.
The interlocutors discussed increasing the quota of road haulage permits and optimising container handling operations at ports and border crossings in China.
Particular attention was paid to the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project. The parties discussed speeding up the signing of a trilateral concession agreement and conducting the ground-breaking ceremony of this important infrastructure facility.
