President of Russia Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan to take part in the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Astana. According to the Kremlin press office, the visit will begin today and last 2 days.
The programme of the visit includes talks with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev. The parties will discuss the progress of strategic partnerships and alliance, including Kazakhstan’s CSTO Chairship and Russia’s CIS and BRICS Chairship. The parties are expected to sign a Joint Statement and several intergovernmental, interdepartmental and commercial documents.
«Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will address via videoconference the participants of the plenary session of the XX Forum of Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation, which will be held in Ufa,» the press office added.
The participants of the CSTO session will review the outcomes of cooperation, identify priorities for strengthening collective security and discuss current international and regional issues.
