Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim delivered a speech at the 18th International Forum «Transport of Russia» in Moscow and presented the strategy for Tajikistan’s integration into global transport corridors. He emphasised the key role of Central Asia as a strategic bridge between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, the press office of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan reported.
The Republic is actively working towards creating sustainable transport and transit corridors linking Central Asia and Russia, Ibrokhim noted.
Particular attention is paid to the development of logistics complexes and the modernisation of transport infrastructure, including the introduction of eco-friendly electric transport. about $6.3 billion will be invested in transport projects. $5 billion will be earmarked to develop the railway network in the coming years.
An important step to develop the regional transport network was the signing of the Agreement on Strengthening the Connectivity of Land Transport in Central Asia in Dushanbe in 2023. Tajikistan developed a Logistics Master Plan jointly with Korean partners.
