On November 21, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev met with Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Yue Xiaoyong in Ashgabat. The diplomats discussed providing comprehensive support for economic recovery in Afghanistan, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
Muhammetdurdyev emphasised that Turkmenistan views multilateral international platforms for maintaining stability in Afghanistan as an important factor contributing to sustainable recovery and socio-economic growth of the neighbouring country.
In this regard, the parties exchanged views on the preparations for the 5th meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighbouring states, which will be held in Turkmenistan.
The interlocutors discussed the priority areas of strategic interstate cooperation built on a long-term mutually beneficial basis and exchanged views on the progress of implementing bilateral agreements.
