Scooter manufacturing plant starts working in Tajikistan

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon put the Sayri Sughd industrial enterprise into operation in Sughd Region that will manufacture scooters and children’s toys. An entrepreneur Mirzojon Umarov implemented the project, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

23 million somoni were invested in the construction project. The enterprise, stuffed with China-made technological equipment, will manufacture 250 electric scooters and 20,000 children’s toys per month. The plant created 60 jobs with a two-shift work schedule at the first stage of its operation. In the future, the managers plan to expand the staff to 150 employees.

Emomali Rahmon launched a new production line at the Tekhnologiyai Polimeri plant during his trip to Sughd Region. The enterprise, founded in 2009 by an entrepreneur Saidkhodzhi Zikriyohujaev, underwent modernisation worth more than 20 million somoni to increase polyethylene film production.

The President visited the regional festival of honey, potatoes and pomegranate that featured the best specimens of the agricultural products made in the region. Particular attention was paid to beekeeping: as of November 1, 2024, there are 80,500 bee colonies in the region, increasing by 578 families compared to last year.
