ADB Vice-President Yingming Yang confirmed the success of the partnership strategy with Uzbekistan, which prioritises promoting green transformation as one of the three main areas.
The agenda focused on the development of the Central Asian University of Environment and Climate Change Studies (Green University) in Tashkent. Given the special attention of the ADB to Green University, the Uzbek side proposed launching a special training programme and advanced training courses under the auspices of the Bank, as well as considering setting up a climate laboratory at the University. These initiatives aim to build up the educational and scientific capacity of the region in climate change research.
