Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda made a presentation on Tajikistan’s economic growth for the past two decades at the Tajikistan-Kuwait Industrial, Investment and Economic Forum. Tajikistan’s economy has grown at an average pace of 7,6% amidst global challenges, Sputnik reports.
The Minister noted that the international financial institutions recognised Tajikistan as one of the fastest growing economies.
A major driver is the demographic structure of the population, with the young and educated generation accounting for 75%. A special achievement is that the country runs on 98% green electricity.
Zavkizoda underscored the attractive investment climate, emphasising the well-developed infrastructure and prospects for investment in the key sectors of Tajikistan’s economy, including the energy, agricultural, light and pharmaceutical industries, tourism, digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
The forum is taking place during the official visit of President Emomali Rahmon to Kuwait, where he is participating in the Dushanbe Process High-Level Conference on Strengthening International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation.
