On October 17, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Minister of Culture of Qatar Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani. The interlocutors discussed the ways of strengthening friendly and fraternal relations between Tajikistan and Qatar, including cooperation in the film industry, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
President Rahmon emphasised that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He noted the key role of cultural exchanges in enhancing bilateral relations. The interlocutors considered holding the Days of Culture of Qatar in Tajikistan that will be an important step to deepen cultural interaction.
The interlocutors discussed cooperation between research institutes in culture and education, scholarships to Tajik and Qatari students and joint film production.
