In his solemn speech to teachers on Knowledge Day, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon announced the launch of a new TV channel that will teach foreign languages to young people. This initiative is aimed at improving educational opportunities for the younger generation, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
In his speech, the President highlighted the importance of developing education in modern conditions. He noted the need to teach schoolchildren not only basic sciences and languages, but also crafts. Rahmon said modern technologies should be integrated into the educational process. He focused on aspects of moral education and preparation of children for adult life.
In 2017-2023, modern schools, which accommodate up to 72,000 children were built and commissioned in Dushanbe, the President added. This year, the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office has adopted the decision to build educational institutions for over 12,000 children in the capital city and significantly improve the conditions of studying and teaching in existing schools.
Currently, 24 educational institutions, which will accommodate 47,000 children, and 55 preschool institutions designed for 11,500 children are under construction in Dushanbe.
