Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko paid a working visit to Prague to hold talks with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jiří Kozák. According to the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, particular attention was paid to the current state and prospects of Kazakhstan-Czechia relations, including political, trade, economic and cultural cooperation.
The interlocutors focused on promoting political contacts and preparatory work for a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, scheduled for the second half of 2024. Aspects of regional and international interaction, as well as cooperation within international organisations, including the UN and OSCE, were discussed.
The special emphasis was placed on the importance of strengthening Kazakhstan-European Union partnerships under the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Kazakhstan expressed interest in cooperation with such Czech companies as Skoda Transportation and Tatra, whose technologies can have a positive impact on the sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.
Vasilenko noted the success of the Prague Zoo’s initiative on the reintroduction of Przewalski’s horses. The first group of 7 horses was successfully delivered and reintroduced in Kazakhstan in June this year.
“This project is a significant contribution to the preservation of one of the rarest wild species,” the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan emphasised.
He participated in the GLOBSEC-2024 Forum, which provides a platform for discussion of strategic issues at the global level, during his visit to Prague.
