Uzbekistan raises pensions and salaries for public sector employees by 15%

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree to increase pensions, allowances and salaries for public sector employees by 15%. The changes will come into force on September 1, 2024, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The minimum retirement pension will be lifted to 834,000 soums, and the disability pension will increase to 920,000 soums. Salaries of teachers, doctors, employees of children’s sanatoriums and boarding schools will increase by 15%. The minimum salary will increase to 1.155 million soums, and the basic calculated amount will increase to 375,000 soums.

Employers are advised to consistently increase salaries to reach the minimum wage. 

The costs of salary increases will be covered from the state budget. The Ministry of Economy and Finance, the National Television and Radio Company and the Agency of Information and Mass Communications are instructed to inform citizens about the changes.
