On July 10, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan Khoja Ovezov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a meeting in Kabul, the IIC information portal reported.
The agenda of the meeting covered the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the pipeline throughput optimisation.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the progress in increasing the capacity of the Turghundi station to expand transport and transit networks and implementing the joint project of the Nurul Jihad electrical substation in Herat Province.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs assured the Turkmen diplomat that Afghanistan is ready to make every effort to address all issues concerning the TAPI project and begin the work. The ministries and departments of Afghanistan are currently finalising the legal documents.
As was reported, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kabul met with Head of the Afghanistan National Standard Authority Faizullah Tamim in the spring this year. They discussed the current state and prospects for ramping up bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
