On July 9, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev heard a report from Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova on the current activities of the Ministry and the health sector development plans, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
«The President was informed that life expectancy in the country has exceeded 75 years. Since the beginning of the year, the incidence rate of 21 infectious diseases, including coronavirus disease, has decreased,» Akorda reported.
The Minister of Health focused on improving the quality and access to health services in accordance with the instructions of the President. Measures are being taken to revise to inpatient and primary health care management, upgrade diagnostic and treatment standards and build up human resource capacity of the health sector. Modern digital technologies are being used to improve healthcare system efficiency and monitor the mandatory social health insurance system.
«The President set the tasks of a qualitative restructuring of the healthcare system with an emphasis on patient-centred care,» the press office added.
