Health workers in Kyrgyzstan to get pay rise by President’s decree

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov approved and signed the Decree on a salary increase for health workers, starting from September 1 this year. In accordance with the new Decree, the salaries of senior health workers will increase by 50%, mid-level health workers by 20% and junior health workers and ambulance drivers by 10%, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.

The President made this proposal highlighting the importance of increasing scholarships of young medical specialists, which they receive in addition to their salaries. Scholarships will increase on July 1. The new Decree envisages increasing deposits of health workers as well.

Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev noted that 20,000 soms will be added first to the salaries of health workers who are sent to work in remote areas and small settlements.

380.9 million soms have been allocated to ensure the salary increase from July 1 until the end of the year, and another 761.8 million soms are to be allocated next year.
