President’s Representative in Issyk-Kul Region Ulanbek Daliev met with US Ambassador to the Republic Lesslie Viguerie to discuss the prospects for promoting tourism. The interlocutors focused on promoting summer and winter tourism in the region, the press office of the Issyk-Kul Region Administration reported.
Daliev said the region has natural and climatic features that make it an attractive tourist destination throughout the year. In summer, tourists can visit clean beaches and healing springs, and in winter, Issyk-Kul turns into an ideal place for a ski holiday.
The parties are set to turn this region into a year-round tourist destination in the future.
The President’s Representative expressed belief that the tourism infrastructure of Issyk-Kul Region can be improved with the support of international partners, including the United States. Support for this industry will contribute to economic growth of the region and raise living standards of local populations.
Lesslie Viguerie expressed interest in developing projects aimed at unlocking the tourism potential of the region. He noted that Issyk-Kul with rich natural and cultural heritage has every opportunity of becoming a popular tourist destination.
