On June 5, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated ecologists and all citizens of the country on World Environment Day. In his address, the President wished them good health, family well-being and every success in their work, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
«Ongoing fundamental reforms in our independent country, aimed at creating a clean-living environment for human activity, contribute to the conservation of our beautiful nature and greater enrichment and scientific research on the flora and fauna,» the President noted.
The President added that Turkmenistan is taking effective measures to strengthen and improve the legal framework for environmental protection. Along with this work, international conferences on ecology and environmental protection hosted by the country on a regular basis vividly testify to the success of the state environmental policy.
«Achieving sustainable development and environmental security on the planet is interrelated with international cooperation. Our country that acceded to dozens of United Nations environmental conventions takes a responsible approach to addressing the challenges to sustainable development facing the world community,» Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
