On June 3, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the solemn event “Ashgabat – the City of New Sports Opportunities and Achievements”, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
“I cordially congratulate you on the declaration of Ashgabat the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth in accordance with the Decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the meeting of which our capital has successfully hosted recently,” the President said.
Berdimuhamedov emphasised that this decision will give new impetus to promote physical activity and sports in the country, foster a healthy lifestyle in society, strengthen international cooperation, exchange best practices and implement effective projects in the above areas.
Pursuing the state policy based on the lofty principles of friendship and peace, sports and humanity that strengthens the unity and cohesion of different nations, Turkmenistan has become the venue for international sporting events,” the President said.
