On May 25, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a government meeting, during which he heard a report from Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev on the development of Turkmenistan’s agro-industrial sector, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reports.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on ongoing inter-row cultivation, thinning, weeding and application of mineral fertilizers on cotton fields. The activities to take care of wheat fields are nearing completion. The necessary measures are being taken to ensure that wheat is harvested in a timely and proper manner. Work is underway to take care of silkworms, store cocoons and perform the state order for silk production in the regions. Spring crops are being harvested.
Commenting on the report, the President instructed the Deputy Chairman to strictly monitor the ongoing activities on cotton fields. He ordered the necessary measures be taken to harvest crops according to schedule.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted the need to improve water supply to agricultural lands throughout the country and ensure the efficient use of water resources.
