On May 18, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shen Yueyue in Ashgabat. The interlocutors exchanged views on key areas of cooperation, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
Shen Yueyue congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the Constitution and State Flag Day. The foreign guest said she considered it a great honour to take part in the events marking the 300th birth anniversary of the oriental poet and thinker Magtymguly Fraghi. She emphasised the significance of the Türkmen-Hytaý zenanlarynyň dünýäsi Forum that gave an opportunity to discuss the role of women in the political and social development of the two countries.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding trade and economic relations with China, in which energy cooperation has a special place. The President highlighted the importance of promoting cultural and humanitarian partnerships. In this context, the President said Turkmen young people study at universities in the PRC, and the Chinese language is learnt in many educational institutions of Turkmenistan.
