In his speech at the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev unveiled plans to expand economic cooperation with the European Union and the United States, particularly in the mining sector, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The President noted that the Republic has substantial reserves of mineral resources and critical metals such as gold, copper, tungsten, silver and uranium.
Moreover, Uzbekistan has the large stockpiles of rare earth metals, including lithium, magnesium, molybdenum, germanium, vanadium and indium.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that Uzbekistan and the European Union have established strategic cooperation in the mining sector. In the future, the Uzbek leader hopes to forge cooperation with the United States and the United Kingdom in this sector.
Mirziyoyev invited major companies to take an active part in strategic raw material extraction projects in Uzbekistan.
