President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the presentation on the strategy for increasing mineral reserves and scaling up mineral resources development in the country. The participants reported on the boost in kaolin production in the Republic — the indicators have doubled in recent years, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The Republic is expanding the prospects of mineral exploration through the priority development of the geological industry and the consistent introduction of advanced technologies. Over the past six years, 15 kaolin processing projects with a total investment of $148 million have been successfully implemented. These measures have resulted in doubling kaolin production in Uzbekistan.
Coal production in Uzbekistan increased by 1.4 times, reaching 5.4 million tonnes. It is planned to increase coal production up to 6.7 million tonnes next year.
