Leader of Kazakhstan delivers speech at Astana International Forum

On June 8, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev took part in the plenary session of the Astana International Forum. In his speech, the President thanked the high-level delegates for arriving in Kazakhstan to participate in the forum, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

In his speech, Tokayev noted an unprecedented increase in geopolitical tensions and challenges of modern civilization, stressing that the mission of the Astana International Forum focuses on five major tasks.

These include an open discussion of the current situation in the world; identification of major challenges and crises; response to challenges through dialogue in a spirit of mutual cooperation; renewal and restoration of the general culture of multilateral relations; the strengthening of voices for peace, progress and solidarity.

Together with the Kazakh leader, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva addressed the forum.
