Dushanbe prepares grandiose festive programme for children on June 1

On June 1, a grandiose cultural and entertainment show under the motto «Children are Our World!» will take place in the Children’s Park in Dushanbe to mark the International Children’s Day, Head of the department of culture of the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office Nurali Shokhiyon said on May 30, the Khovar  State News Agency reports.

The programme will include an exhibition of artworks and handicrafts made by children and adolescents from additional education institutions of the city districts and other games for children.

Winners and active participants of intellectual, educational and sports competitions will receive certificates, memorable gifts and diplomas.

Volleyball, mini-football, chess and checkers competitions, contests for the best artists, advertising campaigns of the Green Patrol and Traffic Inspectors voluntary teams, walking tours and cultural events for boarding school children from the capital city, etc. will take place during the Children’s Week.

The International Children’s Day was first celebrated on June 1 in 1950. In following years, the holiday began to be celebrated annually around the world.
