This decision was confirmed during the Conference of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions in Geneva, in which the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov was taking part. The idea of opening a Green Centre in the north of Uzbekistan was approved and supported by the UNEP representatives who were taking part in the Conference.
