Rustami Emomali re-elected as CAFA President for four-year term

On May 2, the capital of Tajikistan hosted the 8th Congress of the Central Asian Football Association, during which FFT Chairman Rustami Emomali was re-elected as CAFA President for a four-year term, the press office of the Football Federation of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Addressing those present, Rustami Emomali expressed gratitude to the heads of the football federations from the CAFA Members for their trust and stressed that football in the region would continue to develop actively through joint efforts.

President of the Football Federation of Afghanistan Mohammad Yosuf Kargar and Chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Ainazarov were elected as Vice-Presidents of the Central Asian Football Association. Secretary General of the Football Federation of Iran Hedayat Mombeini was elected to the CAFA Executive Committee, and Vice President of the Football Union of Kyrgyzstan Dastanbek Konokbaev was elected to the AFC Executive Committee from the Central Asian Football Association.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and AFC President Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa congratulated Rustami Emomali on his re-election to the responsible position and wished him every success in promoting football in the region.
