On May 2, Kazakh leader Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad Oliver Becht. The interlocutors discussed the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached during Tokayev’s visit to Paris, including in the trade, economic and investment sectors, the press office of the President’s Office reported to CentralAsia.news.
«You arrived with a special message from President Emmanuel Macron. Please convey my best wishes and sincere respect to him. We will be glad to see him here on a state visit at any convenient time. France is our biggest partner in Europe. I firmly believe that our cooperation has great growth potential,» the President emphasised.
The Kazakh leader said Kazakhstan is ready to create the conditions conducive to expanding the presence of French companies in the domestic market, in particular in the transport and logistics, petrochemical, green energy, aviation and manufacturing sectors.
The Minister Delegate expressed gratitude to Tokayev for the warm welcome and noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of the development of multifaceted partnerships between the countries. He emphasised that Kazakhstan is a reliable partner and the only state in the Central Asian region with which France has established strategic cooperation.
