Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave sadaqah-agzachar (charity iftar) at the Hezreti Omar mosque in Ashgabat. The event was held in memory of mother and grandmother Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova, as reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».
Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova passed away last week during Ramadan, the holy month for all Muslims. She was 86 years old. Addressing those gathered at the charity dinner, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that his mother was a hardworking and conscientious woman who did her best to make her children worthy people.
Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova was very good at handicraft. Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty noted that his mother made the products with love and tenderness. According to him, she also read books. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the citizens of the country and the presidents of other states for numerous condolences.
Sadaqah-agzachars dedicated to the memory of Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova were also given at other mosques in Ashgabat and provinces of the state.
