As part of a press conference, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Mao Ning commented on the results of the election of deputies of the Mejlis (unicameral parliament) of Turkmenistan. She congratulated the Central Asian country on the successful completion of the political event. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Chinese MFA.
Mao Ning noted that the Celestial Empire supports the development strategy of Turkmenistan, and also believes in the further prosperity of the country under the leadership of president Serdar Berdimuhamedov as part of the implementation of the strategy «the Epoch of the Revival of the new era of powerful state».
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew attention to the fact that China is ready to continue work on expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The parliamentary elections were held in the Central Asian country on March 26 this year. The voting results were summed up by the Central Commission For Holding Elections And Referendums In Turkmenistan on March 29.
