On March 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting via videoconference on the tasks of increasing food production and coordinating the spring sowing campaign. The agenda covered the important agricultural development issues. The participants adopted the decision on the exemption of 35 types of food products from tariffs until the beginning of next year to ensure food abundance for citizens.
The Agricultural Fund will provide 700 billion soums to replenish the working capital of horticultural producers. Given global food price inflation reaching 15-20%, the participants discussed the tasks of creating employment for citizens. The President instructed to use modern technologies and scientific resources to improve productivity in food manufacturing.
