On March 24, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed the Decree on the transfer of the lands available for renewable energy sources, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The Kyrgyz leader instructed to give the Green Energy Fund under the Government of Kyrgyzstan the use of the lands available for renewable energy sources perpetually (without specifying a period).
In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and local governments, the Fund is to set up a working commission to specify and determine the amount and area of the lands available for renewable energy sources.
These instructions are aimed at achieving energy security, easing electricity shortages, reducing Kyrgyzstan’s dependency on non-renewable energy sources, boosting energy efficiency, as well as protecting the environment and human health.
Renewable energy is generated from a variety of natural resources, which allows conserving non-renewable sources and using them in many economic sectors.
