The residence of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will be used as a rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities, Tengrinews.kz reports.
The residence is located in Amangeldy village in Kostanay Region. Disabled children and children with neuropsychiatric and musculoskeletal disorders will receive treatment at the rehabilitation centre.
According to the Kostanay Region administration, the new centre will offer the entire range of recovery and rehabilitation services to children. The treatment programmes will be designed for a 21-day stay, instead of 14.
According to experts, the centre will receive over 900 children aged 18 months to 18 years annually. The speech therapist, defectologist and rehabilitation specialist will work at the centre. Local specialists will perform massage and exercise therapy.
The funds from the regional budget will be allocated for the refurbishment of the residence into the rehabilitation centre. Design and estimate documentation will be developed this year.
