President of Tajikistan calls on citizens to work harder

President Emomali Rahmon congratulated citizens of Tajikistan on the Navruz Holiday. Reminding his compatriots about the global economic and financial crisis, he called on citizens of the Republic to work harder to achieve national well-being, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Emphasising that the world is facing the growing hunger crisis driven by a number of economic factors, climate change and the spread of infectious diseases, Rahmon said citizens of Tajikistan should efficiently use land and water resources, increase production and ensure an abundance of food products in the Republic.

The Tajik leader stressed that Tajik famers must necessarily grow two or three crops on irrigated lands. The President noted that food insecurity around the world will deteriorate further this and next year.

Rahmon also urged compatriots to avoid unnecessary spending in the face of the major challenges of our time.
