President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay an official visit to the State of Qatar. During a regular government meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported to the leader of the country on the arrangement of the trip. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».
The program of the visit was presented to Berdimuhamedov for his consideration. The head of state instructed Meredov to organize the trip at a high level. He stressed that this event is important for expanding cooperation between Ashgabat and Doha. During the visit, an opening ceremony of the embassy of Turkmenistan will take place in the capital of Qatar. In addition, it is planned to sign several documents aimed at strengthening the partnership between the countries.
The president noted that relations between the states are successfully developing in various areas. The interaction is based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and constructiveness, he added.
During the meeting of the cabinet of ministers, it was also emphasized that a regular meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held this year.
