President of Kazakhstan reviews work of Senate of Parliament

On March 6, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbaev to review the work of the legislature of the Republic, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

Maulen Ashimbaev noted that since the Parliament started performing the functions, the Senate has approved and adopted 21 laws in such areas as labour dispute resolution, housing and communal services and digital assets and introduced amendments to tax laws.

He reported on the draft laws to be discussed at the initiative of the President in the near future. The Chairman of the Senate specified that the revision of the Republican Budget for 2023, the Social Code and the legislative acts on administrative reform, human rights, torture prevention and civil service will be put on the agenda.

The President of Kazakhstan was informed about the progress of reforms in the judicial system and procedural law, measures taken to address regional issues and preparations for the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
