Rescuers of Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations have rescued 8 survivors under rubble in Turkey

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeyev to discuss the results of search and rescue operations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Turkey. The Minister noted that the rescuers had pulled 8 survivors from the ruins, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Azhikeyev stressed that there were children among the survivors. The Kyrgyz rescuers also pulled 198 bodies out of the rubble. In total, 120 rescuers took part in the mission. The crew consisted of the representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, health workers, cynologists and psychologists.

Noting that this was the first rescue operation in the history of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in a foreign country, Japarov said the Kyrgyz specialists had done a good job and demonstrated a high level of professionalism.

The President ordered that the awards would be presented to the rescuers for their contribution to humanitarian assistance to the Turkish people, which would stimulate their work. He also instructed the Minister to enhance disaster prevention activities in Kyrgyzstan.
