In Ashgabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the head of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili. They discussed the development of relations in science, music, art and cinematography. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Turkmen department.
Meredov and Esmaeili noted the expediency of signing a roadmap for the practical and systematic implementation of interstate cooperation in culture and science. In addition to the above areas of partnership, the officials considered the possibility of strengthening ties in media, broadcasting and publishing.
Turkmenistan and Iran will jointly hold cultural events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the outstanding philosopher and poet Magtymguly Fragi and the Novruz Bayram holiday.
On February 12-14, Turkmenistan hosted the Days of Iranian Culture. Creative teams, musicians, artists, masters of folk crafts and national sports athletes arrived in Ashgabat from Iran.
In June 2022, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to Tehran. As part of his trip, a large number of documents on the development of relations in science, education, culture and art between the countries was signed.
